Fair Share
Fair share is one of the three ethics of permaculture, alongside earth care and people care. It’s about making sure resources are shared fairly, so that everyone has enough. We’ve built it into how we price our courses.
How our pricing works
We use a tiered pricing model to help make our courses accessible while ensuring that the people involved in creating and delivering them are fairly paid.
We ask you to choose the tier that best reflects your circumstances, trusting that this shared responsibility supports both individual access and the wider learning community.

Supported rate
If the standard rate would prevent you from taking part, please choose the supported rate. Supported places are limited, so if you need one, we’d encourage you to book early.
Standard rate
This is the rate we ask you to pay where possible. It reflects the real costs of creating and delivering the course, including fair pay for our tutors and cook, food, and the use of the land.
Pay it forward
If you’re in a position to contribute a little more, choosing this rate helps keep our courses open to people with different financial circumstances. Every pay it forward booking opens up one extra supported place.
Paying for your course
Day courses and weekends are paid in full when you book.
Longer courses can be paid in full, or spread over up to five monthly payments. Your first payment is your deposit and secures your place, and the rest is paid by four weeks before the course. The earlier you book, the more months you have to spread the cost.
The three-day Coed Hills Introduction can be paid in full, or in two halves: half when you book, which is your deposit, and the rest four weeks before the course.
You’ll find the prices and monthly amounts on each course page.

Cancellations and refunds
We keep our prices as low as we can, and late cancellations can leave a course short of the numbers it needs to run. This policy aims to be fair to you, to the people teaching, and to everyone else on the course.
If you need to cancel
- More than 8 weeks before the course: we’ll refund everything you’ve paid, including your deposit.
- 4 to 8 weeks before: we’ll refund half of what the course costs, minus anything you haven’t yet paid.
- Less than 4 weeks before: we’re unable to offer a refund.
Other options at any time
- You’re welcome to pass your place to a friend, up to a week before the course. Just let us know their name.
- You can move your booking to a future course instead, if there’s space.
- If we’re able to fill your place from a waiting list, we’ll refund what you’ve paid.
If you miss a monthly payment
Please get in touch. Life happens, and we’ll try to find a way forward together. If we haven’t heard from you within two weeks, we may need to offer your place to someone else.
If we cancel a course
If we have to cancel, for example because of low numbers or severe weather, you’ll get a full refund or a place on a future course, whichever you prefer.
If you’re facing something difficult and need to cancel, please talk to us. We’ll always look at each situation with care.
